The Daily Sun has organised a high-level national policy roundtable titled “Entrepreneurship for Inclusive Growth—Building Bangladesh’s Next Generation of SME Leaders” at SBG Headquarters of Bashundhara Residential Area in the capital.
Daily Sun’s Editor Rezaul Karim Lotus gave welcome address while its Executive Director Tasvir Ul Islam moderated the roundtable supported by Trust Bank PLC on Thursday. Sadat Ahmad Khan, SME Division Head of the bank presented a keynote paper there.
The discussion was focused on key priorities including—Entrepreneurship Development and Innovation, SME Financing and Inclusion, access to finance, Market access and Business Stability, and Building the Next Generation of Business Leaders, digital transformation, women and youth entrepreneurship, market expansion, and policy reforms to enhance SME competitiveness in Bangladesh.
This dialogue brought together policymakers, regulators, financial institutions, entrepreneurs, industry leaders, academia, and development partners to discuss ways to strengthen Bangladesh’s SME ecosystem and promote inclusive and sustainable economic growth.
Md Shajebur Rahman, Deputy Secretary of Ministry of Commerce, Sheikh Abdullah Shadid, Senior Assistant Secretary of Ministry of textiles and Jute, Abdul Haque, former director of FBCCI, Mirza Md Nazmul Huq, general manager of Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF), Kamruzzaman Didar, Head, Entrepreneur DPT of Daffodil Int’l University, Minhaj Ahmed, director of DCCI, Md Mofazzal Karim, Lead, Operations of CED, BRAC University, Farzana Khan, Deputy Managing Director of SME Foundation, and Irfan Mohammed Abir, head of business operations of ShopUp spoke at the roundtable.
Among others, Masud parvez, Head of Emerging Corporate of United Finance, Abrar Hossain Sayem, president of Bangladesh Apparel Youth Leaders Alliance (BAYLA), Md. Rabiul Islam, Director of GreenPolaris limited, Qazi Sabir, founder and CEO of Khelbei Bangladesh, Joytirmoy Chaki, CEO of Anonya, and Faiaz Abrar Rahman, Founder and CEO of Gher were also presented the programme.
